A language

  • easy to read and write
  • up-to-date and in step with the times
  • equipped with powerful and free visual tools

In 1970, the Beatles released their final album: “Let It Be.” In that same year, an unassuming professor at ETH Zurich devised one of the most powerful tools both for learning to program and for building solid, robust applications: the Pascal language.
Thanks to completely free and cross-platform development tools like Lazarus and the Free Pascal Compiler—and to a steadily growing community—Pascal is experiencing a renewed youth in our time. Now known as Object Pascal, this amiable “old-timer” refuses to stand idly by with hands behind his back, watching the construction sites of modern computing. On the contrary, he has wholeheartedly embraced contemporary object-oriented programming paradigms.
Moreover, unlike many other languages often plagued by poor readability, Object Pascal still offers—today as ever—both students and seasoned developers a clear, agile, and easy-to-read syntax.
This is not just another manual; it’s a journey of discovery into what lies beneath the hood of a computer—the very thing that continues to amaze us.

“With a direct style rich in metaphors, the author makes accessible ideas that elsewhere are presented dryly, transforming learning into an almost narrative experience. Thus, through historical references, nods to the ’80s and ’90s, and moments of genuine didactic passion, the reader is guided to rediscover the logic hidden beneath the apparent “magic” of computers.”
